Four single-storey extensions were constructed to supplement the existing facilities as well as provide a secure entrance and reception area to the front of the building. To the rear, a large covered external play area was constructed which was flooded with natural light via large ‘Velux’ roof light windows.

Roller shutter doors fully open up one elevation of the play area to allow youngsters free access to additional external landscaped secure play area. The community centre remained fully operational whilst works were undertaken, with the minimum of disruption for visitors, staff and children.
