Health and Safety Policy

The Directors of Hargreaves Contracting Ltd recognise the fact that health and safety has positive benefits to the Company and that a strong commitment to a high level of safety makes sound business sense. 

We accept our responsibilities willingly and practice leadership in respect of health and safety matters  and frequently review our policies and procedures in order that we can adapt quickly and effectively to change. 


The Company places enormous value on the contribution made by its employees and seeks to conduct its activities in a manner that is committed to their health, safety and wellbeing. 


It is our mission to provide and maintain a safe and healthy working environment  by providing suitable and adequate resources for health and safety to enable full compliance with statutory requirements and obligations.


We ensure that such information and instruction as may be necessary to ensure our Employees health and safety at work is provided freely and willingly. We work hard to provide adequate control of the health and safety risks arising from our work activities and consult with our Employees on matters affecting their health and safety.

 

We provide and maintain safe plant and equipment for use by our employees and we ensure the safe handling and use of substances through comprehensive risk and Coshh assessments, and appropriate responses to the risk detailed in our method statements.

All our employees are provided with appropriate information, instruction and supervision and they are given appropriate and sufficient training to ensure that they are competent to carry out their duties and tasks.


Our primary objective is to prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health through the provision and maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment.  We are very proud of our Health and Safety record  but we take nothing for granted and will continue to strive for excellence in Health and Safety as indeed we do in all other aspects of our business.
