The project involved the replacement of an existing library floor. With live loads present in the form of numerous bookshelves, a solution had to be reached quickly, which could be carried out with minimal disruption, be light in construction and both commence and complete within the summer break.

The solution consisted of demolishing the existing slab and filling the resulting void with polystyrene void formers over which a pumped power floated slab was installed.

In addition, new offices and corridors were constructed including provision of new services, ceilings, fire escape stairs and finishes.
